Hispanic Student Association Elections

JC Bistro April 7 2016 @ 6:30PM - 8:30PM

Hello everyone, it's that time of year again to elect our new executive board for the 2016-2017 academic year. Please come and join us in the JC Bistro so the candidates may present themselves to all of you. Voting will take place online and only ACTIVE members may vote. If you're an active member but are not able to attend the elections please email our President Corina Solorzano at csolorza@gmu.edu for your code. Hope to see everyone there :D

Ambassador of Costa Rica to the U.S. at GMU

JC Bistro April 14 2016 @ 5:30PM - 6:30PM

The Costa Rican Ambassador to the United States, Roman Macaya Hayes, will be on campus next Thursday, April 14th in the Johnson Center Bistro from 5:30 PM – 6:30 PM, with a Reception to follow.

The Ambassador will be discussing “The Cuban Refugee Crisis, Migration and Infectious Disease”. The Ambassador has dedicated much time and effort during his career towards assessing the strengths and weaknesses of the Costa Rican health care system. He holds a Ph.D. in Biochemistry from UCLA, an MBA in Health Care Management from the University of Pennsylvania, and a B.A. in Chemistry from Middlebury College.

The discussed topics will include the Costa Rican response to Cuban refugees, incoming migrants and emerging infectious diseases. There will be time for questions and answers. All interested students, faculty and staff are invited to attend this event.

10th Annual Gala: Noche De Oro

The Hub Ballroom April 30 2016 @ 6:00PM - 12:00AM

We cordially invite you to celebrate the accomplishments of the Hispanic Student Association and its members at the 10th Annual HSA Gala. This year Gala is Hollywood themed, some highlights of the ceremony are the presentation of stoles to graduating seniors to commemorate their milestone, cultural performances, and the presentation of the executive board for the 2016-2017 academic year.

Gala is open to students, faculty, staff, and anyone else in the Mason Community. There is no cost for admission and dinner is provided. The event will be held at George Mason University in the HUB Ballroom. Doors will open at 6:00 pm with the event starting promptly at 6:30 pm. The ceremony will end at 9:00 pm, followed by a dance from 9:00 pm to 12:00 am. We hope that you will be able to attend. It will be a night to remember!
